I am back, another introduction.
Wow. I am finally back and working on the site. Funny how our daily lives can consume us, and before long weeks have drifted by without any warning. As we have heard before, time flies when your having fun. Over the last few weeks I also bought myself a little dirt bike. It's only a 200cc model, and it's a "knock-off" of a major brand. Not exactlly what the doctor ordered, but it'll do for know. At there very least I can begin to gain my pavement riding skills back. I have been riding bikes since I was about 10yrs old, with the first of many bikes being a Keystone mini bike. Anyone remember those ones?? I can not even be sure of what the spec's where on this bare bones two wheeler, but I can say is that it filled many a day with fun and excitment. If memory serves, I think it might have been a 50cc or smaller, Briggs & Straton 2-cycle chain driven engine. They weren't much on frills, none to be exact, but they were practical, easy to maintain, and easy to ride. Centrifical clutch, one speed >>>forward<<< and one brake lever for the rear tire on the right handle bar. Back on the day, this was considered a spoiled kid's toy. Hahahah. Well, spoiled or not, it rode like a tank. You felt every bump in the road and then some. Practical, nothing flashy or any bells and whistles. So now that I am back among the living, I will offer some stories of my own riding history, what I have learned along the way and what is available in this day and age in the way of mini bikes, or shall we refer to them as Pocket Bikes? Perhaps Pocket Bikes is a polite way to re-term these little machines, as I think most neighbours that I used to know, used to hate Mini Bikes. Pocket Bike has such a nice ring to it, how could anyone hate these??? As we will see, these pocket bikes have come a long long way from those early days. Where they were once a very unique style of bike, they now have much closer ties to their big brothers. Ok….alrighty…..thats it for now…. Lets Ride.
