Sure,.,,,,,so now that we got over the July 4th celebrations…..or like myself, packed up the boys and headed out camping for a few days. And what did we take? Bikes and more bikes…..and too many kids hahahah. Ahh man we had a blast. We managed to squeeze 5 mini pocket bikes into the back of the truck. Hooked up the trailer, loaded up a few kids and off go. The few days we had were nothing less than exilerating. Just for the record, the 5 poclet bikes are not all mine. Plus we had a few other adults around and their kids too. So, it was here that I came to realize, looking at all the assorted mini bikes and dirt bikes around, that hardly any were the same make or model. I know when i was poking around looking for a small bike for the kids, it was near impossable to find much info. Over the next few weeks, I think its about time we started to collect some information about some of the top 10 good buys out there. I hope this will provide some help for any of you that may be considering buying one. And lets see if we can even find 10 great deals for YOUR pocket bike.

Trying to find the right pocket bike for yourself may seem a little daunting, but with some knowledge you should be able to make an educated choice. Most models available these days will handle a rider who weighs up to 250lb. Though this may not be an ideal weight to performance ratio, nor will you win races off the starting line, but even so, the pocket bike will handle it and will not damage the bike in any way. Of course any riders that are below that weight range will see an added performance boost. All that being said, you can still have an enourmous amout of fun. Pocket bikes that are in the 125cc or bigger, will manage those that are in the higher weight scale. Skill level will also play a part in your decision. Have you riden bikes before?? Do you know how to shift with a clutch and a 4 or 5 speed transmission?? Perhaps your looking for something for the kids? No problem. There are enough models available to make the right choice for you or your family member. Whichever model you choose, treat them with the same respect you would treat any motorized, gas fueled vehicle, and you'll have many years of entertainment. Go for it!! Lets Ride!

I was doing a bit of thinking last night, and I have to admit, when I was speaking about the ole Keystone mini bike yeasterday,
it seesm to me, there was no transmission at all. One gear forward and you just rolled on the gas and away you went.
I do remember my cousin getting himself a small Honda 50. The little red bike that could. Now this was a little different than the Keystone.
And this was also a few years after I had my Keystone. To say the least, I was jealous. He was younger than I, and all of a sudden he had a bteer bike than me. Darn.
Not only cute and functiona, but a good looking ride. Now this bike did have a 4-speed transmission, and used an centrifugal clutch system.
I am sure these have become a collectors item. Honda, without a doubt, had a really great product in this class of mini bike. They were miles ahead of anyone else.
Sleek and good looking, it also managed to entertain the kids for days. Seeing how I was not the owner of this one, I can not say what problems were encountered, but from speeking to my cousin
a few days ago, he did not have any memory of any lenghty "down time". Todays Pocket Bikes have that same great integrity. Stylish yet robust. Other than the petit size of these bikes, they produce more horespower
and are built to withstand more than a mild thrashing.

There is no better time to get into this exiting sport, just for fun, or for sport, either way your kids and yourself will be pleasently surprised.

Lets ride

So for those not yet familiar with these styles of bikes, maybe a second look at these pocket rockets may be just what your looking for.

I don't know about you, but i just love motorbikes. If they happen to be large fully dressed touring bikes or the small pocket bikes we have come to know over the last few years, they all manage to create a sensation unlike most others. That open feeling, no blind spots, and the shear fact that with experience and agility bikes can be safer that automobiles. However, there is one thought that you should never slip into your vocabulary. That…in a word…is "complacentcy"!! For as many years as I have been riding, there will come a time when all of your skills may be put to the test. Wether your on the circuit or fooling around in a wide open feild, if you become to relaxed, or over confident with your skills and abilities, that will be about the time when something happens. So a word of caution, expect the unexpected.

Wow. I am finally back and working on the site. Funny how our daily lives can consume us, and before long weeks have drifted by without any warning. As we have heard before, time flies when your having fun. Over the last few weeks I also bought myself a little dirt bike. It's only a 200cc model, and it's a "knock-off" of a major brand. Not exactlly what the doctor ordered, but it'll do for know. At there very least I can begin to gain my pavement riding skills back. I have been riding bikes since I was about 10yrs old, with the first of many bikes being a Keystone mini bike. Anyone remember those ones?? I can not even be sure of what the spec's where on this bare bones two wheeler, but I can say is that it filled many a day with fun and excitment. If memory serves, I think it might have been a 50cc or smaller, Briggs & Straton 2-cycle chain driven engine. They weren't much on frills, none to be exact, but they were practical, easy to maintain, and easy to ride. Centrifical clutch, one speed >>>forward<<< and one brake lever for the rear tire on the right handle bar. Back on the day, this was considered a spoiled kid's toy. Hahahah. Well, spoiled or not, it rode like a tank. You felt every bump in the road and then some. Practical, nothing flashy or any bells and whistles. So now that I am back among the living, I will offer some stories of my own riding history, what I have learned along the way and what is available in this day and age in the way of mini bikes, or shall we refer to them as Pocket Bikes? Perhaps Pocket Bikes is a polite way to re-term these little machines, as I think most neighbours that I used to know, used to hate Mini Bikes. Pocket Bike has such a nice ring to it, how could anyone hate these??? As we will see, these pocket bikes have come a long long way from those early days. Where they were once a very unique style of bike, they now have much closer ties to their big brothers. Ok….alrighty…..thats it for now…. Lets Ride.
